We are so excited that we went with this particular sand box. It looks really nice in our yard and is very sturdy. I read some reviews that said the lid wouldn't blow off and didn't think that was particularly useful, until we had 40 mph winds and I didn't have to go chase the lid down the street. Great value.very sturdy.
Very durable, perfect size, easy on the eyes. Bought this product for my son's first birthday. So far, we are using it as a kiddie pool and plan to buy sand at the end of summer. Thanks to Amazon, we saved about $20 from the Toyr-R-Us price plus got free shipping to our door. Made in the USA, too.
We ordered this sandbox for our grandchildren (ages 3 & 8) and they love it. It is durable with corner seats and holds 200 lbs of sand.
The lid also does a great job of staying put on super windy days and of preventing water from entering the sand pit during storms. We love this sandbox. Also, the box is deep enough so that you can get a good amount of sand in the box for some really imaginative play. It's the perfect size for both my 5 and 2 yr olds to play together or to have their "separate corners," and we've even had up to 4 kids using the sandbox simultaneously without problems during a playdate. The textured outer surface of the sandbox must somehow help to prevent the plastic from getting too hot to touch because my son has never had any issues with removing the lid or sitting on the stumps, (though I usually set up the beach umbrella to shield them from the sun during playtime). We'll definitely be taking this box with us on our next move. I would definitely recommend this sandbox.
However, the way we filled up the sandbox, one side was not very straight which prevents the lid from fitting snugly. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this sandbox. We taught her to sit on one of the corners and she enjoys playing with various toys (pots, pans, jars etc).The sandbox lid/cover is a good feature. As a result, the lawn sprinkler throws some water in the sandbox every morning.not the sandbox's fault entirely.but the flexible plastic bulged such that the lid isn't snug. All in all, a great value for the price.
